Introducing Sindh which is province in Pakistan whereby this area is famous for its fine culture and elaborated hand craft work. Art is produced in the region in consonance to its history, culture and the geographical features of the region. The Sindhi people are Original dwellers of Sindh, Pakistan they are very skillful in pottery making weaving and in embroidery and Knitting the items of handicrafts which are utilized in the homes as luxury items in a true sense. The most prominent features of Sindhi embroidery include traditional dress and the dupatta which are very much part of Sindhi civilization.

Sindhi Dress
Sindhi dress is highly popular for it being a colorful and well-designed dress. The traditional dress is a long flowing kurta with ghagra (a long skirt) or shalwar (trousers). These garments are made from fabrics locally available such as cotton and silk because of their comfort and durability in this area.

One cannot talk about Sindhi dress without mentioning something as special as elaborate embroidery. Carpets are embellished with intricate designs with Swiss velvet, Sindhi, and Kutch embroidery usages on the carpets. These styles utilize bright threads and complex designs originating from natural and ethnic references. The skill employed in developing such fabrics is hereditary; each member of the family contributes to crafting the piece adding his /her idea into it.

Block printing is another most common technique used in Sindhi textiles which are clearly reflected in the ajrak fabrics which are very much associated with Sindhi identity. Ajrak has geometrical designs and deep hue and it is used for making kurtas and ghagras. Ajak printing can also be understood as a number of steps; one can clearly see the respect of artisans to their work.

Dresses of Sindhi people are not merely worn; they are symbolic assertions of cultural preamble. For tradition people feel honored to dress formally during festivals and other ceremonial events to celebrate their culture of Sindh. Every piece is a little history lesson in the cultural customs of the Sindhi people.

Sindhi Dupatta Design
Dupatta is very important element in the dresses of Sindhi women and beautifully coordinates with traditional wears. This long scarf can be worn over the shoulders, head or round the stomach and hips making it a perfect addition to any style. Dupattas are of different types also they may be made of cotton, silk or chiffon or other fabrics Most of the times these are having fancy work on them.

Dupatta designs are bright colored and have attractive figured with elaborate flowers, heavy paisleys and geometrical shapes. Full bright colors like reds, yellows and greens makes dupattas appropriate for casual and formal occasions.

Designs of dupattas can be simple or rich and there are rich methods used by artisans such as stitching, embroidery, mirrors, stones and beads to decorate the dupatta. Making of dupatta is done by weaving and dyeing and then having some decorative work done on it, which displays the talent of the weavers.
However, recently young people have gone back to the traditional styles of dupatta designs, especially those from the Indian subcontinent. The modern designers are thus combining the traditional patterns with the modern looks thus developing stylish products that targets the modern day consumers. This evolution does not only keep and share the Sindh cultural values but also expand the marketing area.
