Social influences, such as peer pressure and the normalization of drinking in certain cultures, can also contribute to the development of addiction. The effects of alcohol addiction are far-reaching, impacting physical health with liver damage, heart problems, and weakened immunity. It can also harm mental health, relationships, job performance, and overall quality of life.
